A Prefab Cabin with a Personal Touch
After 16 years living in North Vancouver, J + S were ready to build a retreat on the Sunshine Coast.
A home that reflected their love for natural materials, clean design, and a connection to the outdoors. They envisioned a Scandinavian-inspired, single-storey cabin that could serve as both a getaway and a preview of their future home.
A prefab solution offered efficiency without compromising on quality, and with a strong focus on Canadian-made products, they worked with Lincoln Construction to bring their vision to life.
The Vision
As a meticulous researcher, J explored countless designs, home shows, and material options before settling on a prefab cabin package. She wanted a space that felt open, warm, and timeless—drawing inspiration from Scandinavian aesthetics while incorporating natural materials from the region.
Pinterest boards helped shape the overall style, with a strong emphasis on simplicity, functionality, and the use of local materials wherever possible.
The Solution
To align with their design goals and need for an efficient build, J worked with Mike at Tamlin Homes to select a prefab package that matched their vision. Lincoln Construction then took on the build, ensuring that every detail was executed with care and precision.
The cabin was designed for both comfort and long-term durability, integrating high-quality materials that would stand up to the Sunshine Coast’s climate while maintaining a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
The Outcome
The finished cabin is a stunning blend of craftsmanship and practicality. Exposed beams add character, while carefully selected custom stonework creates a grounded, natural feel. The single-storey layout maximizes ease of use, and the Scandinavian-inspired interiors bring warmth and simplicity to the space.
